Join the Online Standardbred Club this September, for an interactive group ‘challenge’ experience.
We’ll introduce key strategies you can use to keep your standardbred’s attention focused on what you’re asking of them, even if you’re riding in an unfamiliar environment or confronted with scary things.
The Standardbred Distraction Challenge is perfect for you if any of this sounds familiar:
- Your standardbred is green or fresh off the track and has limited experience outside of a racing environment.
- Your standardbred can be nervous or reactive when they see or hear something unfamiliar.
- Your standardbred becomes tense and stops listening to you when taken to new places.
- You lack confidence, or feel unsure how to manage your standardbred when they’re worried or distracted.
The Standardbred Distraction Challenge is about creating good communication with your horse and equipping you with simple strategies you can use to stay safe during training sessions and create a relaxed partnership with your standardbred.
Activities will be introduced in video tutorials, which you can log in and watch on your phone, tablet or computer.
The Standardbred Distraction Challenge is perfect for all experience levels and activities can be adapted to groundwork or riding (so even if you’re not in the saddle currently/don’t feel ready to ride, you’ll still be able to join in!)
The techniques introduced in the Standardbred Distraction Challenge have been taught to dozens of standardbreds who were part of the Raising the Standards outplacement program, including mounts trained for intensive pursuits such as Riding for the Disabled and Victoria Police’s Mounted Branch.
We believe that being able to connect within a likeminded community and share experiences is one of the BEST things about being a standardbred owner today.
And this is why we’re going to host the Challenge within our Online Standardbred Club.
When you join the Challenge you’ll connect with fellow Online Standardbred Club members and be able to share your experiences together in ‘real time’.
The group will help to inspire, motivate and encourage you to try new things with your standardbred.
Through updates, videos and photos shared in our private members Facebook group, you’ll be able to watch other standardbred owners – just like you – practising some of the skills introduced in the Distraction Challenge.
You’ll get to learn from others’ mistakes, take on board suggestions and connect with a network of friendly, knowledgeable people there to ask questions and offer support.
It’s going to be a lot of fun to see standardbred owners working through the exercises at the same time, sharing experiences, asking questions, posting cool updates, photos and videos…. It’ll take the whole experience to the next level and make it such a fun place to hang out, make friends and be part of something bigger than training alone with your horse.
To participate in the Standardbred Distraction Challenge, you’ll sign up to the Online Standardbred Club, for just $29 (monthly fee).
You’ll be provided with the tools and guidance to participate in the Distraction Challenge + access our private Online Standardbred Club member Facebook group, where we’ll post updates and be able to learn and share with each other.
Additional to the Standardbred Distraction Challenge material and an invitation into the member group, you’ll also get instant access to all of the existing Online Standardbred Club content, including over 50 lectures featuring video tutorials, downloadable worksheets and some amazing guest interviews with internationally-acclaimed horse health and training experts.
